January 16 (SeeNews) - Croatia's average annual consumer price inflation accelerated to 1.5% last year, from 1.1% in 2017, the country's statistical office said on Wednesday.
The prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have the biggest weight of 27.90% in the consumer basket, rose 1.0% in 2018, while the prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels prices (16.22% weight), increased 2.7%, the Bureau of Statistics said in a monthly inflation report.
In the month of December, inflation slowed to 0.8% year-on-year, from 1.3% in November.
On a monthly comparison basis, Croatia's consumer price index (CPI) decreased by 0.8% in December, after dropping by 0.3% in November.
Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages rose 0.5% year-on-year in December, after increasing at the same rate in November.
The prices of housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels added 2.2% year-on-year in December after rising 2.5% in November.
The prices of transport services (12.58% weight), recorded an annual decrease of 0.3% in December, compared with an increase of 3.4% in the previous month.
