September 14 (SeeNews) - Croatia's consumer price inflation stood at 2.1% year-on-year in August, following an equal rise in prices in the previous month, the country's statistical office said on Friday.
On a monthly comparison basis, Croatia's consumer price index (CPI) was unchanged in August, after dropping 0.9% in July, the Bureau of Statistics said in a monthly inflation report.
Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have the biggest weight of 27.90% in the consumer basket, rose 1.1% year-on-year last month, after rising 1.5% in July.
The prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, with a 16.22% weight, added 3.4% year-on-year in August after rising 3.6% in July. The prices of transport services, which have a 12.58% weight, recorded a gain of 6.2% year-on-year in August, compared with an increase of 7.2% in the previous month.
Croatia swung to average annual inflation of 1.1% in 2017, from deflation of 1.1% in 2016.
