March 15 (SeeNews) - Croatia's consumer prices increased by 4.1% on the year in February, after rising at the same rate in January, the statistical office said in on Friday.
On a monthly comparison basis, Croatia's consumer price index (CPI) rose 0.2% in February, after edging down by 0.4% in January, the Bureau of Statistics said confirming its initial estimate released on March 1.
In February, prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 5.7% year-on-year while transportation costs went up 4.3%.
Measured by the EU-harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), prices of goods and services for personal consumption in Croatia increased by an average 4.8% year-on-year in February. On a monthly comparison basis, HICP edged up by an estimated 0.3% in February.
Croatia reported a 4.1% annual rise and a 0.4% monthly decline in HICP in January.
In 2023, Croatia's average annual inflation slowed down to 8%, from 10.8% in 2022.
