June 14 (SeeNews) - Croatia's consumer price inflation quickened to 0.9% year-on-year in May from 0.7% in the previous month, the country's statistical office said on Friday.
On a monthly comparison basis, Croatia's consumer price index (CPI) increased by 0.6% in May, after growing at the same rate in April, the Bureau of Statistics said in a monthly inflation report.
Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have the largest weight of 27.81% in the consumer basket, fell 0.7% year-on-year last month, after dropping 1.7% in April.
Prices of housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels, with a 16.44% weight, added 4.1% in May after rising 3.9% in April.
Prices of transport services, which have a 12.43% weight, increased by 1.7% in May, following a growth of 2.8% in the previous month.
Croatia's average annual inflation accelerated to 1.5% last year, from 1.1% in 2017.
