August 29 (SeeNews) - Croatian manufacturer of plastic components for the automotive industry AD Plastik [ZSE:ADPL] is looking to employ an additional 150 workers in its plant in Zagreb by the end of the year, local media reported on Thursday.
The reason is the launch of serial production of components for the Renault Clio 5, as well as the start of serial production of parts for the Ford Puma, Croatian news daily Jutarnji.hr reported, citing information from the company.
"We are looking for production workers, forklift drivers, electricians and toolmakers, i.e. qualified workers and workers with a high school diploma", the daily quoted AD Plastik human resources executive Mira Pavic as saying.
Pavic that the company is prepared to hire foreign workers for certain positions if it fails to find enough qualified staff in Croatia.
The company currently employs 1,550 workers.
In July, AD Plastik signed contracts worth a total of 71.4 million euro ($79.1 million) for the production of parts for the Renault-Nissan-AvtoVAZ alliance.
In particular, it will develop and produce more than 80 car parts for the new Renault Logan and Renault Sandero models, such as bumper components, rocker panels, mudguards and under engine covers in its factory in Togliatti, Russia.
AD Plastik is a blue chip on the Zagreb bourse. Its shares traded 1.17% lower at 169 kuna by 14:44 CET on Thursday.
The company's net profit rose 1.3% year-on-year to 57 million kuna in the first half of 2019, it said earlier.
