November 24 (SeeNews) - Croatian shipping company Alpha Adriatic [ZSE:ULPL] said on Wednesday it has set up a human resources management company for the maritime sector, ASP Adriatic, in which it holds 80% of the capital.
The remaining 20% is owned by Eduard Hibser, an experienced manager in HR management for dry cargo and tanker segments, the company said in a filing with the Zagreb bourse.
Alpha Adriatic also said it is in talks with Australia-based international ship management group ASP Ships, which is expected to become the leading partner in the new company.
This project is of key importance for the Alpha Adriatic group and is expected to increase available maritime workforce under the management of the group, which will help to raise the competitiveness of the ship management services offered in the international shipping market, the statement said.
Alpha Adriatic's shares last traded on Monday on the Zagreb bourse, when they closed at 105 kuna ($15.6/14 euro), up 5% compared to the previous closing price.
