March 13 (SeeNews) - Croatia's airports handled 257,219 passengers in January, up 2.1% year-on-year, the country's statistical office said on Wednesday.
The total number of landings and take-offs increased 3.8% to 4,692 in January. Cargo volume fell 13.3% to 712 tonnes, down 13.3%, the statistical office said in a statement.
In January, Zagreb airport recorded the largest passenger traffic in Croatia, of 189,136 travellers, whereas Rijeka airport reported the biggest year-on-year rise in passenger numbers - by 42.6% .
Residents of Germany led the list of international passengers at Croatian airports in January with 75,243 travellers, followed by France (12,478), the Netherlands (11,594), Turkey (11,404) and Qatar (10,774).
