January 14 (SeeNews) - Croatia's airports handled 10.2 million passengers in the eleven months through November, representing a 10.3% increase compared to the same period of 2017, the National Bureau of Statistics said.
In November alone, passenger traffic totalled 320,000, or 5.3% more than in the same month last year, the statistical office said on Friday.
The total number of landings and take-offs numbered 4,938, 3.3% more compared with the same month in 2017. In the year to November 2018, freight volume increased to 11.3 million tonnes, up 25.5%.
Zagreb airport recorded the largest passenger traffic in Croatia, of 232,000 travellers, whereas Rijeka airport reported the biggest increase in passenger numbers - by 88.3%.
Residents of Germany topped the list of international passengers at Croatian airports in November with 96,000 travellers, followed by France (17,000), Austrian (16,000), Turkey (15,000) and the UK (14,800).
