September 14 (SeeNews) - Croatia recorded a budget deficit of 1.9 billion kuna ($299.4 million/255.7 million euro) in the first six months of 2018, slightly higher than in the same period of last year, local media reported.
Croatia's central government budget, which includes extra-budgetary funds and local self-government units, was in surplus of 1.6 billion kuna in the review period, news agency Hina quoted finance minister Zdravko Maric as saying.
Croatia's budget revenue added 2.9% year-on-year to 59.9 billion kuna in the first half, while expenditures rose 3.3% to 61.8 billion kuna.
Maric added that the Croatian economy expanded by 2.7% in the first half, with the retail sector posting an increase of 3.9%.
