December 6 (SeeNews) - Croatia's government has invited South Korean automotive manufacturer Hyundai Motor Company to establish a factory in the country, economy minister Darko Horvat has said.
"I have invited four or five key players in the automotive industry [to establish production facilities in Croatia] and Hyundai is among them," Horvat said in a video file posted on the website of Croatian public broadcaster HRT on Wednesday.
He did not name the other invited companies.
Croatian media reported on Wednesday that South Korean automotive manufacturer Hyundai Motor Company had started negotiations with the Croatian government for the construction of a car manufacturing plant two months ago.
Rimac Automobili, founded in 2009, is the only car producer active in Croatia at present. The company develops and manufactures high-performance electric vehicles, drivetrains and battery systems.
