June 4 (SeeNews) - China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) is interested in participating in the construction of additional sections of the Bar-Boljare motorway in Montenegro, part of European Corridor XI, the company's general manager Du Fei has said.
CRBC, which is building the 41 km-long Smokovac-Metesevo section of the motorway, is ready to take part in a public-private partnership for the construction of the other parts of the project, Du Fei said on Monday, according to a press release of Montenegro's transport ministry.
China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), a subsidiary of CRBC, plans to complete the construction of the Bar-Boljare stretch of the motorway by the middle of 2020, executive chairman Liu Qitao said earlier this year.
The motorway of 129 km in length on Montenegrin territory has three more projected sections in the country -- Matesevo-Andrijevica, Andrijevica-Boljare and Podgorica-Djurmani.
In April, the Serbian government signed a memorandum of understanding with CRBC for the construction of the Pozega-Boljare section of the motorway on Serbian territory.
Corridor XI is a ferry/motorway corridor linking Italy's Bari to Romania's Bucharest via Montenegro's Bar port and Serbia's Belgrade.
