SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), January 16 (SeeNews) – Bosnian state owned-motorway company JP Autoceste FBiH said it will start a new investment cycle on pan-European transport Corridor Vc this year with the launch of the construction of the Medjugorje-Pocitelj motorway section.
The construction of the Bosnian stretch of Corridor Vc can be completed by 2020 if works continue with the current pace and sustainable financing model, JP Autoceste FBiH said in a statement on Thursday, quoting its general director Ensad Karic.
Corridor Vc connects the Croatian coast to the Hungarian capital Budapest via Bosnia.
JP Autoceste FBiH, which posted a profit of 63 million marka ($37.9 million/32.2 million euro) in 2014, has invested 1.25 billion marka in various motorway projects in the last three years.
The construction of the Svilaj-Odzak motorway section is currently underway as well as the construction of Zenica sjever-Zenica jug, of the Zenica bypass road.
Karic said that Autoceste FBiH has completed 11 motorway construction projects on Corridor Vc in the last four years with 102 km having been opened for traffic - 35% of the total project volume.
The Federation is one of the two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic.
