February 6 (SeeNews) - International broadcaster Central European Media Enterprises (CME) said on Thursday its operating income before depreciation and amortization (OIBDA) from operations in Bulgaria rose to $25.72 million (23.4 million euro) in 2019 from $21.62 million the year before.
CME's revenue in Bulgaria edged down to $83.4 million last year from $84.6 million in 2018, the company said in an annual financial statement.
In the fourth quarter alone, CME's OIBDA in the country increased to $9.3 million from $8.5 million in the last quarter of 2018, as revenue stayed unchanged year-on-year at $25.4 million.
CME's portfolio in Bulgaria comprises TV channels bTV, bTV Cinema, bTV Comedy, bTV Action, bTV Lady and Ring.
In October 2019, CME entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by an affiliate of Dutch-based PPF Group for some $2.1 billion. CME expects the transaction to be completed in the middle of 2020, it said in its annual financial statement.
