The company confirmed its interest in acquiring Telekom Slovenije, which it sees as a successful company that it can help prosper in the future by investing in the development of telecommunications infrastructure and network to deliver the highest quality broadband and mobile network services.
"We believe we can grow Telekom Slovenije as an independent Slovenian company that will provide high quality products and services to its customers," Cinven said.
In early December, Slovenian state holding company SDH, which is coordinating the privatization process for the telco, told SeeNews that investors interested in a 72.75% stake in Telekom Slovenije had been asked to prepare their binding bids. However, it did not name the shortlisted bidders.
In 2013, Telekom Slovenije was placed on a list of 15 state firms earmarked for privatization.
Cinven, set up in 1977, has offices in Guernsey, London, Frankfurt, Paris, Milan, Luxembourg and Hong Kong.
