BELGRADE (Serbia), May 14 (SeeNews) – China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) hopes to sign a commercial agreement for the overhaul of a railway line linking Serbian capital Belgrade to the border with North Macedonia by the end of 2019, Serbia's infrastructure ministry said on Tuesday.
CRBC also expects to complete the construction of the Surcin-Obrenovac motorway section of European transport Corridor XI in Serbia by the end of the year, the ministry quoted CRBC general manager Du Fei as saying in a statement.
"For us, all projects for which we have signed agreements with CRBC in the last few months are very important," infrastrucure minister Zorana Mihajlovic said during a meeting with Du Fei in Belgrade.
Last month, Serbian state-owned company Infrastruktura Zeleznice Srbije signed a framework agreement for the overhaul of a railway line linking Belgrade to the North Macedonian border with CRBC.
Serbia signed a $233.69 million (262.6 million euro) agreement with China on the design and construction of the Surcin-Obrenovac motorway section in June 2016.
Corridor XI is a ferry/motorway corridor linking Italy's Bari to Romania's Bucharest via Montenegro's Bar port and Serbia's Belgrade.
