December 3 (SeeNews) - CEZ Distribution Bulgaria [BUL:3CZ], a subsidiary of Czech power utility CEZ, said on Monday that it has signed two deals with ABB Bulgaria, worth a total of 5.45 million levs ($3.2 million/2.8 million euro), for supply and installation of four power transformers.
The deals were signed on November 23, CEZ Distribution said in a notice.
The public procurement procedure for awarding the contracts attracted six offers.
In September, ABB Bulgaria, part of Zurich-headquartered power and automation company ABB, said that 7 million euro into the construction of a new production base in the town of Petrich, in southwestern Bulgaria. The base, which will be the company's fifth, will include 3,500 sq m of production facilities for low-voltage equipment, 2,400 sq m of logistics facilities and an office section of 1,500 sq m.
ABB Bulgaria currently operates four production bases and a turbocharger service centre. It employs over 2,500 people in the country.
CEZ Distribution Bulgaria operates the distribution grid on an area of 40,000 sq km in northern and northwestern Bulgaria, including the Sofia region.
