August 14 (SeeNews) - Mate Rimac, CEO of Croatia's Rimac Automobili, announced on Tuesday that he will launch a technology park in neighbouring Bosnia's Livno, in order to help increase employment of young people and halt their emigration, Bosnian media reported.
"Bosnia and Herzegovina is the worst economy in Europe, and the Livno Canton is the worst in the country. The situation is catastrophic", news portal Poslovni.ba quoted Rimac as saying during a business forum held in Livno.
The technology park is set to begin work in early September. It will offer young people business tips and infrastructure, and later assist them in other challenges, Rimac noted.
The municipal government of Livno is set to provide financial aid to the project, which is expected to draw investors to the region.
Rimac, who was born in Livno, started working on his vision of producing electric sports cars in his garage in the Croatian town of Sveta Nedelja in 2009. In March, he unveiled the latest version of his electric hypercar, the C Two, at the Geneva Motor Show. The two-seater produces around 2,000 hp and reaches a top speed of 412 kilometres per hour.
