September 26 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's electricity production increased by 13.75% on the year to 37,211 GWh from January 1 to September 18, the Electricity System Operator (ESO) said on Monday.
In parallel, domestic power consumption slipped by an annual 0.13% to 27,373 GWh in the review period, ESO said in its weekly newsletter.
According to the data, Bulgaria's power trade surplus jumped by 86% to 9,837 GWh.
The volume of renewable energy in the transmission network rose by 26%, reaching 1,163 GWh. Meanwhile, the volume of renewable energy in the distribution grid was by 15% higher than a year earlier, amounting to 1,670 GWh.
The output of hydro power plants dropped by 26% to 3,024 GWh.
