March 18 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's electricity production declined by 18.48% year-on-year to some 8,624 GWh between January 1 and March 17, the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO) said on Monday.
In parallel, domestic power consumption slipped by an annual 1.79% to 9,025 GWh, ESO said in its latest weekly data release.

The country swung to a power trade deficit of 400.7 GWh in the review period from a surplus of 1,390 GWh a year earlier.
The volume of renewable energy in the transmission network jumped by 32.47% on the year to some 501.8 GWh, while the volume of renewable energy in the distribution system climbed by 11.43% to some 500.5 GWh.
The output of hydropower plants, however, fell by an annual 7.11% to roughly 554.9 GWh in the period under review.
