February 13 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's ViK Smolyan, the water utility servicing the city of Smolyan, said on Monday that it has awarded a 31.3 million levs ($17.4 million/16 million euro) water supply and sewage infrastructure upgrade deal to a local tie-up.
The tie-up comprises Raicommerce Construction and RC Design, ViK Smolyan said in a notice.
The contract envisages the construction of 7,508 metres of new water supply pipelines and the rehabilitation of 6,453 metres of existing ones. The deal also provides for the construction of 8,839 metres of new sewage pipelines, and the reconstruction of 9,821 metres of the existing sewage network.
The deal was signed on January 21, according to the notice.
Six bidders submitted offers in the tender for the contract.
The project benefits from EU funding under Operational Programme Environment 2014-2020.
According to registry agency data, Raicommerce Construction holds 98% interest in the tie-up.
