May 10 (SeeNews) - Total revenue from tourist overnights spent in Bulgaria in March increased by 8.3% on the year to 48.7 million levs ($27.9 million/24.8 million euro), the statistical office said on Friday.
Revenues from overnights spent by Bulgarian tourists increased by 13.0% year-on-year in March, while revenues from overnights of foreign nationals grew by 3.7%, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.
The total number of tourist overnights spent in Bulgaria rose 4.9% to 873,800 in March.
The largest increase in the number of overnights, by 11.4%, was registered by one- and two-star hotels which serviced 31.4% of the overnights of Bulgarian tourists and 8.5% of the overnights of international visitors.
A total of 432,700 tourists stayed in accommodation facilities in Bulgaria in March, up 8.1% year-on-year.
