August 1 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's sole nuclear power plant (NPP) Kozloduy said on Thursday that its 1,000 MW Unit 6 is running at 300 MW capacity after a shutdown of two of the unit's main circulation pumps activated the protection system.
The problems with the circulation pumps have been resolved and the unit's turbine generator will be disconnected from the grid to allow the pumps to be switched on, the power plant operator said in a statement.
The power generating unit is expected to be reconnected to the grid within three hours after its shutdown.
NPP Kozloduy's other functioning 1,000 MW Unit 5 is operating at full capacity.
