September 21 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Kozloduy nuclear power plant (NPP) will shut down Unit 6 - one of its two 1,000-MW operational units - for planned annual maintenance on September 24, it said on Wednesday.
The works are expected to be completed by the end of October, the power plant operator, Kozloduy NPP, said in a press release.
During the planned outage, the reactor will be reloaded with fresh nuclear fuel. The maintenance works will also include functional tests and inspections.
The power plant's 1,000-MW Unit 5 was reconnected to the grid in May following planned annual maintenance.
