September 20 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Energo-Pro Varna, part of Czech power utility group Energo-Pro, said on Tuesday that its wholly-owned subsidiary Energo-Pro Energy Services built and commissioned a grid-connected rooftop solar system with an annual generation capacity of 199.8 kWp for local meat processing company Tandem-Popovo.
The photovoltaic (PV) installation is equipped with 444 monocrystalline modules and four 3-phase solar inverters, Energo-Pro Varna said in a press release without providing information on the cost and financing of the project.
The 3-phase solar inverter is a device that converts the electricity generated by the solar panels to alternate current (AC) to then distribute it across a three-phase power supply.
The facility is located at the client's plant in the northern village of Drinovo, south of Ruse, and will meet Tandem-Popovo's production needs, while excess output will be sold and redirected to the grid.
Energo-Pro Energy Services has grown into a turnkey project developer over the past three years, having expanded its activities to meet its clients' growing demand for the construction of solar PV systems for own use to mitigate the high cost of power for business needs.
Established in 2001, privately-held Tandem-Popovo, which owns the Meat Revolutions brand, specialises in the production and processing of pork, beef and lamb.
