March 25 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian car battery manufacturer Elhim Iskra [BUL:ELHM] said it booked a preliminary gross loss of 581,000 levs ($321,508/297,059 euro) in the first two months of 2024 against a profit of 48,000 levs in the comparable period of last year.
Elhim Iskra generated sales revenue of some 6.94 million levs in January-February, the company said in a bourse filing last week. In comparison, the company posted sales of 8.01 million levs in the same period of 2023.

In February alone, the battery maker turned a preliminary loss of 194,000 levs on revenue of some 3.43 million levs. It compared to a profit of 100,000 levs on sales of 4.19 million levs in February 2023.
The Pazardzhik-based company, part of local diversified group Stara Planina Hold [BUL:SPH], projects revenue from sales of 3.4 million levs for March, down from 4.5 million levs in the same month last year.
Shares in Elhim Iskra last traded on February 29 when they closed at 0.88 levs on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange, bourse data show.
