September 24 (SeeNews) - Burgasbus, the public transport company owned by the Bulgarian municipality of Burgas, said on Tuesday that it has launched a tender for awarding a contract for delivery of a total of 56 new electric buses, worth a combined 64.4 million levs ($36.2 million/32.9 million euro), VAT excluded.
The tender is divided into three lots, envisaging supply of ten 18-metre long buses, 34 buses with length of 12 metres, and 12 nine-metres long buses, the municipally-owned company said in a tender notice.
The project will benefit from EU funding under Operation Programme Environment 2014-2020.
The deadline for submitting expressions of interest is October 31. Selected candidates are expected to be invited to submit offers on November 27.
