SOFIA (Bulgaria), May 29 (SeeNews) – Bulgaria’s competition regulator said that it has launched proceedings in relation to a complaint filed by a local tie-up against the ranking of offers in a 21.1 million levs ($11.7 million/10.8 million euro) drinking water treatment plant (DWTP) construction tender.
The complaint was submitted on May 12 and proceedings were initiated on May 22, the Commission for Protection of Competition said last week.
According to data from the contracting authority – ViK Shumen, the tie-up which filed the complaint comprises local Building Development Holding and SP Holding. Both companies are fully owned by a private individual – Georgi Georgiev, according to commercial register data.
Last month, water utility company ViK Shumen said that it has picked a tie-up between Bulgaria's Obonato Build and Hungary's Pureco to build a drinking water treatment plant (DWTP) for 21 million levs.
All four other consortia, which submitted offers in the tender for the contract, were disqualified.
The project benefits from EU funding under Operational Programme Environment 2014-2020.
