August 31 (SeeNews) - Most main share indices of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) closed in red territory on Wednesday, with the blue-chip SOFIX the only index to post a modest rise of 0.04% to 612.34 points.
First Investment Bank [BUL:FIB], or Fibank, was the biggest gainer among SOFIX constituents, advancing 3.00% to 2.06 levs with 1,044 shares traded.
Despite Fibank's gain, the BGTR30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, went down by 0.26% to 735.36 points, mostly due to a 6.99% decline in Stara Planina Hold [BUL:SPH] to 8.65 levs.
A 24% surge in fuel retailer Petrol [BUL:PET] to 0.248 levs as well as a 7.95% jump in FairPlay Properties REIT [BUL:FPP] to 0.95 levs were not enough to keep the wider BGBX40 index in the black. The BGBX40, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the BSE, dropped 0.39% to 141.22 points.
The BGREIT index also lost ground in the midweek trading session, retreating 0.16% to 183.58 points, largely held back by a 0.67% decline in Advance TerraFund REIT [BUL:ATER] to 2.95 levs.
IoT products maker Allterco [BUL:A4L] was Wednesday's most liquid stock, with as many as 8,505 shares traded for a turnover of 159,894 levs. Allterco closed 0.27% higher at 18.80 levs.
Total turnover on the Sofia bourse's main market slumped to some 569,560 levs ($291,980/291,210 euro) on Wednesday from about 1.3 million levs on Tuesday.
