September 20 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria’s ministry of innovation and growth is ready to provide over 2.9 billion levs ($ 1.484 billion/1.483 billion euro) to local companies for innovation and research projects, caretaker minister Alexander Poulev said.
The innovation ministry has already secured 280 million levs via the government’s financing facility Fund of Funds as well as 64 million levs via the state-owned Bulgarian Development Bank, Poulev said in a press release. In addition, 600 million levs will be available by the end of 2022 as part of Bulgaria’s national recovery and resilience plan.
Notably, the ministry is currently working on a new programme to secure financing of 2 billion levs from January 1, 2023. The Research, Innovation and Digitalization for Smart Transformation programme will be submitted for EU approval on September 23, Poulev said.
