May 7 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria registered the EU's sharpest monthly decline in the industrial producer price index (PPI) in March, at 3.4%, followed by Greece and Denmark with 2.3% each, Eurostat said.
In contrast, Croatia recorded the sole month-on-month increase in industrial PPI among EU member states in Southeast Europe (SEE) and second-highest in the EU, at 0.2%, the bloc's statistical office said in a data release on Monday. Overall, industrial producer prices in the EU went down 0.5% in March compared to the previous month.
On an annual comparison basis, Bulgaria's industrial PPI declined the most among EU states in SEE, for which data is available, by 12.8%, compared to a bloc average drop of 7.6%.
On the other hand, Greece marked the smallest year-on-year fall in industrial prices in the region, at 1.3%.
