The project, which benefits from EU funding under Operational Programme Regions in Growth 2014-2020, is expected to be wrapped up in 2021.
The ministry has already signed contracts for the purchase of 358 ambulances and will soon relaunch the tender for purchasing 42 more, as the initial procedure failed to attract valid offers.
In July, the ministry signed a deal worth 9.7 million levs, VAT excluded, with local dealership Automotor Corporation for the purchase of 78 type B emergency ambulances.
In November 2018, the ministry inked two contracts worth a total of 38.3 million levs, VAT excluded, with Sofia France Auto for the purchase of 280 ambulances.
