September 20 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's exports of defence-related products rose by over 200 million euro ($235 million) year-on-year in 2017, reaching 1.22 billion euro, deputy minister of economy Lachezar Borissov said on Thursday.
The defence industry is key for the country in terms of employment, Borissov said in a press release issued by the economy ministry.
Companies from the Bulgarian Defence Industries Association provide over 30,000 jobs, Borissov added.
