June 4 (SeeNews) - The tax administration of Bosnia's Serb Republic said on Tuesday it collected 1.04 billion marka ($598 million/532 million euro) in taxes in the first five months of 2019, up 3% compared to a year earlier.
Revenue from direct taxes fell 3% on the year to 236 million marka mostly due to lower income tax collection, the administration said in a statement.
Revenue from contributions rose 8% on the year to 635 million marka in the January-May period thanks to higher contributions to the state pension and health insurance funds.
Other revenues were down 1% on the year at some 165 million marka.
The Serb Republic is one of the two entities that comprise Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
