BANJA LUKA (Bosnia and Herzegovina), April 23 (SeeNews) – Consumer price inflation in Bosnia's Serb Republic slowed to 0.5% year-on-year in March, from 0.8% in the previous month, the entity's statistical office said.
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices in the Serb Republic edged up 0.2% in March, after rising by 0.5% in February, the Serb Republic's Institute of Statistics said in a statement on Monday.
Prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco in the entity rose 2.8% year-on-year, prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages were 0.3% higher, while prices of transport increased 2.6%. Prices in the sector of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels added 2.9%.
The biggest year-on-year drop in consumer prices in March was recorded in the clothing and footwear sector, of 11%.
The Serb Republic is one of the two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
