BANJA LUKA (Bosnia and Herzegovina), May 22 (SeeNews) – Consumer price inflation in Bosnia's Serb Republic quickened to 0.7% year-on-year in April, from 0.5% in the previous month, the entity's statistical office said on Wednesday.
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices in the Serb Republic fell 0.9% in April, after edging up 0.2% in March, the Serb Republic's Institute of Statistics said in a statement.
Prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco in the entity rose 3.6% year-on-year, prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages were 0.6% higher, while prices of transport increased 4%. Prices in the sector of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels added 3.3%.
The biggest year-on-year drop in consumer prices in April was recorded in the clothing and footwear sector, of 11.8%.
The Serb Republic is one of the two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
