July 18 (SeeNews) - Bosnia's Sarajevo Canton is inviting offers for procurement of 25 new low-floor trolleybuses and related post-sales services, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said.
Sarajevo Canton's traffic ministry intends to use part of the proceeds of a loan from, or grant administered by the EBRD to finance the project, the bank said in a tender notice published on Wednesday.
The contract is expected to start on November 18 and last for about 8 to 16 months.
The total value of the procurement is 15 million euro ($16.8 million), the government of Sarajevo Canton said in a press release.
The new trolleybuses will be fitted with advanced charging systems, passenger counters, accesses for disabled people, air conditioning, heating and LED lights.
They will also have state-of-the-art electrical equipment, produced in compliance with the current European standards. They will use eco-friendly engines requiring minimal maintenance.
