September 21 (SeeNews) - Zeljeznice RS [BANJ:ZERS] and Zeljeznice FBiH, the railway operators of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s two autonomous entities, signed a contract with Slovakia's transport company Budamar Logistik for transport of iron ore, Zeljeznice RS said.
Under the agreement, trains owned by the two railway operators will transport iron ore from the Croatian Adriatic port of Luka Ploce to Slovakia, passing through the Bosnian cities Samac and Capljina, Zeljeznice RS said in a press release on Tuesday.
The railway operators agreed to transport about 50,000 tonnes of iron ore per month by the end of the year. The Bosnian companies also hope to sign a new contract with the company for transport of goods in 2023, the statement reads.
The value of the contract was not disclosed.
The Serb Republic and the Federation are the two entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina.
