BANJA LUKA (Bosnia and Herzegovina), December 12 (SeeNews) – Bosnia’s oil refinery Rafinerija Nafte Brod [BANJ:RNAF] has been granted an environmental permit, the government in Banja Luka said.
The granting of the five-year permit obliges the company to implement measures that will reduce or mitigate the negative impact on the environment from the refinery’s emissions in line with EU standards, the Serb Republic government said on Friday.
The refinery is a pre-existing installation, which means that the issuing of the environmental permit was preceded by the approval of an action plan with measures and deadlines for the gradual reduction of emissions.
Rafinerija Nafte Brod is based in the Serb Republic, which together with the Muslim-Croat Federation makes up Bosnia.
The Brod refinery operates within Optima Grupa, which is in charge of Russian giant Zarubezhneft’s commercial and development operations in Bosnia.
