September 8 (SeeNews) - Bosnia and Herzegovina's public debt totalled 12.8 billion marka ($6.5 billion/6.5 billion euro) at the end of June, equivalent to 32.35% of the projected 2022 gross domestic product (GDP), up from 12.7 billion marka at the end of the previous quarter, finance ministry data showed.
The public debt of Bosnia's Federation rose to 6.6 billion marka at the end of June from 6.5 billion marka three months earlier, whereas the public debt of the Serb Republic was unchanged at about 6.1 billion marka, the finance ministry said in a quarterly debt report on Wednesday.
The public debt of Brcko district amounted to 48.67 million marka at the end of June, up from 48.12 million marka at the end of March. The public debt of the state-level institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina edged down to 62.48 million marka at the end of June from 62.98 million marka three months earlier.
At the end of 2021, Bosnia's public debt totalled 12.86 billion marka, equivalent to 34.21% of the country's GDP.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is made up of two autonomous entities - the Serb Republic and the Federation, and the self-governing Brcko District.
