BANJA LUKA (Bosnia and Herzegovina), April 22 (SeeNews) – The state-owned motorway operator of Bosnia's Serb Republic, JP Autoputevi RS, has signed a memorandum of cooperation with China Shandong International Economic&Technical Cooperation Group for the drafting of project documents and the construction of the Banja Luka-Prijedor motorway section, the Serb Republic entity government said on Wednesday.
The cost for the construction of the first section, which is part of Banja Luka- Prijedor-Novi Grad motorway with total length of 80 km, was not disclosed in a statement posted on the government's website.
The entity's transport minister Nedjo Trninic, who attended the signing ceremony, was quoted in the statement as saying that to date, around 320 million euro ($342 million) have been invested in motorway projects in the Serb Republic.
The Serb Republic is one of two autonomous entities forming Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other is the Muslim-Croat Federation.
