January 6 (SeeNews) - The motorways operator of Bosnia's Federation entity, Autoceste FBiH, said it has opened a tender for the preparation of the main design study of the Hrenovica-Gorazde section of the future Sarajevo-Gorazde speed road.
The deadline for submitting bids expires on February 19, Autoceste FBiH said in a tender invitation published last week.
The job should be completed in 12 months and is valued at 1.2 million marka ($687,000/614,000 euro) without VAT, the statement said.
The Hrenovice-Hranjen-Gorazde section is part of the Praca-Gorazde speed road that will link the capital Sarajevo with the town of Gorazde, which is now around 100 kilometres away in the southeast. The new motorway will reduce the journey from the Bosnia’s capital city to Gorazde from 95 to 56 km, and is considered of vital importance for the locals.
The main design will include the part of the road which is outside the Hranjen tunnel, the statement said.
In September 2018, Autoceste FBiH awarded an 82 million marka (including VAT) contract to local company Euro-Asfalt for the construction of the 5.8 km tunnel Hranjen.
The construction of the tunnel marked the beginning of works on the first phase of the Sarajevo-Gorazde motorway. It will be the longest tunnel in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Autoceste FBiH has said.
The Federation is one of the two entities that comprise Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other is the Serb Republic.
