July 16 (SeeNews) - The registered jobless rate in Bosnia's Federation decreased to 36.7% at the end of May from 37.2% a month earlier, the entity's statistical agency said on Tuesday.
The registered unemployment rate is calculated as a ratio of the number of unemployed to the total active population. Unemployment among women also declined in May, to 44.6% from 45.1%, the agency said in a statement.
The number of unemployed fell 1.7% on the month to 308,607 in May.
At the same time, the number of employed people edged up 0.4% month-on-month to 532,779 in May, while the active edged down 0.4% month-on-month to 841,386.
The Federation is one of two autonomous entities making up Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic.
