September 20 (SeeNews) - The consumer price index (CPI) of Bosnia's Federation rose by 17.4% on the year in August, following an increase of 17.6% in July, the Federation's statistical office said on Tuesday.
On a monthly comparison basis, the Federation's CPI grew by 0.1% in August, after rising by 0.4% in July, the entity's statistical office said in a monthly report.
The average consumer prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have the biggest weight in the consumer basket, rose 25.2% on the year in August, prices in the sector of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels went up by 21.4%, while the transportation costs surged 27.7% compared to August 2021.
The CPI of Bosnia's Federation rose by an average 2.1% last year, after a decline of 0.9% in 2020.
The Federation is one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic.
