October 3 (SeeNews) - Bosnian power utility Elektroprivreda BiH [SAJ:JPESR] has launched a tender for the installation of a desulphurisation system at Block 6 of Tuzla coal-fired power plant, local media reported.
The investment is valued at over 60 million marka ($30 million/30.7 million euro), news provider Ekapija reported on Sunday.
The system is expected to be used for at least 20 years, according to the report.
Block 6 alone has an installed capacity of 223 MW, whereas the Tuzla plant's total installed capacity is 779 MW. The power plant produces some 3,600 GWh of electricity per year on average, consuming 3.3 million tonnes of coal.
Elektroprivreda BiH, Bosnia's largest power utility, is based in the Federation entity. Elektroprivreda RS is the power utility of the Serb Republic.
The Federation and the Serb Republic are two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina.
