September 26 (SeeNews) - The central bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina said it estimates that the country's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by an annual 4.8% in the first half of 2022.
In the second quarter alone, the country's economic output likely expanded by 4.2% year-on-year, based on currently available data, the central bank said in a statement on Friday.
However, the central bank expects economic growth to decelerate in the second half of 2022, taking into consideration the continuing unfavourable factors, primarily in the supply of natural gas and electricity.
Bosnia's central bank added it expects the average annual inflation in the country to reach 14% in 2022. The estimate is subject to the future price developments on international markets, as well as the effectiveness of policies aimed at curbing inflation, the central bank noted.
Consumer prices in Bosnia and Herzegovina rose by 19.3% on the year in the first seven months of 2022. In July alone, the consumer prices were 16.7% higher compared with July 2021.
