SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), September 25 (SeeNews) – Bosnia and Herzegovina's consumer price index (CPI) rose 1.8% year-on-year in August, after increasing by the same annual rate a month earlier, official statistical data showed on Tuesday.
Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 0.4% year-on year in August, prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco increased by 5.7% and prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels added 2.9%, according to a monthly inflation report published by Bosnia's Agency for Statistics.
Prices of healthcare services rose by 2.2% on the year in August, transport appreciated by 11.5%, prices in the sector of recreation and culture gained 1.8%, services at restaurants and hotels became 0.5% more expensive, and prices in education added 0.1%.
On a monthly comparison basis, Bosnia's consumer prices dropped by 0.1% in August, after falling by 0.7% in July.
Bosnia swung to annual inflation of 1.3% in 2017, from 1.1% deflation in 2016.
