May 8 (SeeNews) - Bosnia hopes that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will increase its annual investment in the country to 300 million euro ($336.1 million) in 2019 from 200 million euro last year, the head of the state-level government said on Wednesday.
Bosnia hopes to attract EBRD investments that would not focus just on infrastructure, but also on the strengthening of the private sector and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the chairman of Bosnia's council of ministers, Denis Zvizdic, said at the opening of the EBRD 2019 Annual Meeting and Business Forum in Sarajevo.
"Our duty and our firm commitment is to continue the reforms," Zvizdic said.
The EBRD has invested 2.3 billion euro in about 160 projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina so far. A total of 82% of the investments have been concentrated on infrastructure projects, he added.
