February 1 (SeeNews) - Total trading turnover of Bosnia's Banja Luka Stock Exchange (BLSE) plunged to 12.4 million marka ($6.8 million/6.3 million euro) in January, compared with nearly 112 million marka generated in December, the bourse said on Thursday.
Equity turnover from regular trading on the BLSE totalled 687,664 marka in January, lower than 2.8 million marka in the prior month, the bourse said in a monthly report.
The BLSE's total trading turnover amounted to 9.1 million marka in January 2023.
A total of 422 transactions were concluded on the Banja Luka bourse in January, compared with 643 in the previous month and 259 transactions in January 2023.
The BLSE's total market capitalisation amounted to 5.21 billion marka in January, slightly up from 5.20 billion marka the prior month. The bourse's total market capitalisation came in at 4.68 billion marka in January 2023.
The BLSE’s benchmark index, the BIRS, closed at 978.58 points at the end of January, up 0.80% compared to the end-December value and 16.99% higher compared with its closing value at the end of January 2023.
Telekom Srpske [BANJ:TLKM-R-A] contributed the largest portion of total trading turnover among the companies on the BLSE in January, of 230,007 marka. The company's shares closed at 1.19 marka at the end of January, unchanged compared with the end of the previous month.
The BLSE is based in the Serb Republic, one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Sarajevo Stock Exchange (SASE) is based in the other entity, the Federation.
