October 15 (SeeNews) - Croatian shipping company Uljanik Plovidba [ZSE:ULPL] said on Monday its "Pomer" ship was detained by the authorities in Australia's Gladstone port due to a delay in the payment of salaries to the vessel's crew.
The ship was detained by the Australian authorities although the salaries were paid before its arrival in the port, Uljanik Plovidba said in a filing with the Zagreb Stock Exchange.
The ship will be released once the requested information on the wages payment is provided by the respective banks, Uljanik Plovidba said.
The detention of the vessel does not affect the smooth running of planned commercial and other activities in the Gladstone port, the company added.
The Pomer ship is an oil tanker with a deadweight of 52,579 tonnes, sailing under Croatia's flag.
