June 28 (SeeNews) - UK-based car parts maker Aptiv, formerly known as Delphi Automotive, and Serbia's Leskovac will sign a contract on July 2, obliging the investor to hire 2,000 employees at its planned cable set factory in the municipality, the local government said.
Leskovac earlier said that Aptiv will invest 25 million euro ($29 million) to open a cable set factory in the city on a 27,105 square metre land plot.

The mayor of Leskovac, Goran Cvetanovic, met with Aptiv officials on Wednesday to discuss the progress made on the project, the municipal government said in a statement.
In September Delphi Automotive announced that Aptiv and Delphi Technologies will be the two publicly-traded companies that will result from the company's spin-off of its Powertrain Systems segment.
Aptiv, comprising the Electronics & Safety and Electrical/Electronic Architecture businesses, will focus on accelerating the commercialisation of active safety, autonomous driving, enhanced user experiences and connected services, providing the software, advanced computing platforms and networking architecture required to do so, the company said in September.
